What Do Other People Think?
Many actually like to see fairytales as a learning tool, as the stories help children define imagination, creativity, and even the understanding of real life problems while also seeing the difference between right and wrong. Often, they highlight important moral lessons such as kidness, honesty, and caution. This guides children's everyday decsions and behavior. Morever fairytales are also valued for keeping cultural tradtions and giving the reader a set of stories that continue to inspire generations.
“It is known that stories – by reproducing fictional situations that match with children’s real problems – allow them to feel comfortable and safe in difficult circumstances, ensuring emotional security and providing healthier ways to deal with internal struggles, life adversities, and stressors.”

With this in mind, it is important for teachers to explicitly consider how they weave moral education into the curriculum. Fairytales, Lewin suggests, are a useful vehicle for communicating lessons about morality and how we should treat others. If we were to try to teach those morals outright, he continues; we might be less successful. “I’m interested in how a child’s moral development is encouraged [by fairytales] ....”
